Dear first-semester students, what do you think this course holds in store for you?
Improvisational theatre is a special form of art that encourages individual expression and content. You will learn to make up theatrical scenes in your very own way. In short exercises and sequences you will train your spontaneity in speech, gestures and facial expression. Step by step you will learn supporting techniques that help you develop a feeling for improvisation. These techniques can be used again and again in various scenes.
How can this course benefit you? It enhances your spontaneity, creativity and imagination and points out different perspectives. You can try yourself in new roles and expand your own limits. Besides, the creative processes in these exercises are indeed very interesting and appealing.
This course is suitable for all those who have a mind for acting on stage and like to improvise or to learn it. No prior knowledge is required. Please bring clothes that allow you to move with comfort and ease. Good German language skills are important for this course.
